About

Many teenagers today suffer from mental health issues.  For the past few months, Ehsan, Umaiza, and Ali came together to conduct a research about what are the main causes of depression for the youth generation and what are the solutions.

Background

  • Depression has become a big problem in our generation, and a big reason is because of technology, and other problems may be covid 19 and personal issues.

  • Many people today face depression and mental health issues, especially the younger generation, so being familiar with ways to avoid it can be helpful to many people.

n

Objectives

July 24 - December 18

  • Based on our research, we intend to see the main and contributory factors in our generation that cause the problems of depression and then thinking of ways to remove or improve them to increase better mental health.

Challenges and Constraints

One big challenge was the whole team working cooperatively. Everyone was not on the same page and not meeting their deadlines. Another challenge was getting the survey out to enough people needed to be able to conduct the survey. The last major challenge we faced was making sure that the data we had was authentic.

Target Audience/Impact

Our research is not only for young adolescents, but also for people of all age groups so that it could be beneficial for everyone. Our research also allowed us to identify the main factors that contribute to mental illness in the youth. On top of that, our research will, god willing, be the basis for further research into solutions for these issues.
